These twelve local musicians and 40 plus collegial connections and friends from 6 states and two countries totaling 63, entertained thousands of Chinese concert goers recently in SSO’s 5th concert tour throughout the southwest region of China over New Year’s. The tour was in collaboration with the Confucius Institute of Valparaiso University. Eight concerts in seven days was a busy schedule that still allowed for fine dinners with local sponsors, shopping and touring sidebars and plenty of bus time bonding with friends. “The concerts were remarkable”, says one musician. “The audience, so appreciative, and wanting autographs afterwards was thrilling to experience! The concert venues were impressive, modern and huge!”
Reports from concert tour participants that have done this before, validate this tour was the best! Although past participants will agree that all of the tours gave insight to the culture, new adventures in sharing the universal language of music and once in a lifetime experiences to recall and share.
